Goal 6: Clean Water & Sanitation
consume less water?
Living in Calgary we seem to have unlimited access to water. The Bow River basin delivers countless litres of thisvital resource from the runoff of the Rocky Mountains. In the last 100 years, this basin has been transformed and has prospered from agriculture, forestry, transportation and tourism development. But, in the next 70 years, if this continues at its current pace, these activities will severely affect the quality of the water in the Bow River Basin. Therefore, our challenge is to find new and better ways to manage our water. This means changing our perception of water as a limitless commodity to regardingit as a precious resource that must be protected and preserved.
