SDG1: No Poverty

Groups got a chance to answer a few questions about their topic and the exhibition.
The cycle of poverty can go unnoticed, but is present across Calgary. Hundreds of families live on the edge of financial insecurity, and hundreds more have lost their financial security entirely. Many Calgarians face a daily struggle of balancing pennies; some with kids to feed; some trying to scrape rent together. Why is this happening? Of course, the economic conditions that have been building up for years underscore the issue, but where does the Calgary framework of support and community falter? What can be done to support our most financially vulnerable populations? Understanding, support and empathy for those in the cycle of poverty in Calgary is lacking, and this project seeks to foster those things through exploring the critical factors present for people experiencing financial insecurity.
