Goal 7: Affordable & Clean Energy
... better educate Albertans on the facts and impacts of wind energy in the province?
Alberta is currently undergoing a massive change that will impact the future of its energy production. Under the mandate of the Climate Leadership Plan, the goal is to phase out coal-fired electricity generation by 2030. This transition will create new jobs and reduce emissions in Alberta moving forward. Part of the plan will be to replace a third of Alberta’s generation with renewable energy.
The energy landscape of Alberta will change with new wind farms being installed across the province. This change will have an impact across the province. It is important for Albertans to have an understanding of the future energy climate and the impact it will have on both rural and urban areas.
